Feedback on the UX of signing in/signing up for forum access using the iPad App “Discourse”. I use it for all the forum.product.com sites so that I have them all collected under one roof.
Anyway, signing in to this Forum takes multiple attempts. First one just takes me to my overview page, second attempt too, then third attempt actually gives me the “authorize app” screen that all other Forums take me to on the first try.
Not world-shattering. But I thought I’d provide feedback.
Thanks! We didnt know about this problem. The idea is to use the login from the website. Did you have an account logged at out website or it was a direct loggin attemp here?
I had an account already, but hadn’t logged in to forum before.
First time I logged in to forum was on my phone, then I logged in a second time from my iPad. Both times, the login process was a mess. I use 1Password, and your sign in process worked well with that, so that’s a plus.
If you want to compare your sign in process in Discourse with another, you can look at eg forums.demiplane.com
This Discourse program makes it so these various forum sites behave a little more like Discord or Reddit. Multiple servers collected under one program. And that way I don’t forget to check for notifications somewhere.
